Strategic level:

  1. General Assembly (GA)

    Is the main decision-making body in REDISSEC with the greatest responsibility to guide policy research and administrative policies of the network . It is formed by the group leaders and the Coordinator of the Network. AG is responsible for the following strategic decisions: managing and amending the network resolutions; approving the Network Role Assignment Matrix; approving the annual strategic research plans and identifying the future directions for REDISSEC; fostering the links with other international and national research networks; providing comments on the major project outputs before their official release; overseeing the promotion of gender equality in the project; approving the annual technical report of the project; resolving any matter that cannot be clarified or arranged at a lower level.

  2. Advisory board (AB)

    Is an external body that will not only help provide scientific guidance to REDISSEC, but also will offer support to improve transfer of research outputs. The Advisory Board will help increase interest and awareness of HSR within the national and regional Health Authorities; facilitate access to additional relevant organisations and stakeholders; and offer strategic guidance to the network. The AB will give advice to the General Assembly on major topics to be developed by REDISSEC and will evaluate the project advancements and the sustainability plan.

Executive Level:

  1. Steering committee (StC)

    Constituted by the Network Coordinator (chair), and the Regional Coordinators nominated by the corresponding regional health authority. The StC will oversee the overall development of REDISSEC regarding the program established by the Scientific Committee. The StC will be responsible for: ensuring good practice in planning, management, dissemination and implementation of activities; overseeing the work and progress of individual work packages; planning the annual network meetings; making recommendations regarding any other network issue; solving any issues that cannot be clarified or agreed at a lower level.

  2. Project Management Team (PMT)

    Coordinated by the Network Coordinator it is an operative team acting as a staff body of the StC to ensure that high standards of technical and administrative excellence are maintained and to guarantee operative and daily support to all the beneficiaries in technical, economic and administrative issues. The PMT ensures an optimal liaison between the General Assembly and the Steering Committee.

Network coordinator:

Elected among the node coordinators, besides being a group leader and a node coordinator, will have the following attributions: leading the scientific program; directing and coordinating the training program, its activities and managing its budget; coordinating, with the StC, all the different networks committees and nominate their leaders to be confirmed by the Steering Committee; acting as the spokesperson for the ISCIII, the Advisory and Scientific Committees; representing the Network in any external activity or to nominate a person from the network to do so.

Scientific and ethics committee:

Constituted by the scientific leaders of every main research area, it is in charge of supporting the StC for the development and the management of the Communication Plan. The Scientific Board plans the annual research program, including program contents, responsibilities of investigators and budget allocations.

Innovation transfer & implementation committee:

Responsible for supporting the StC and GA on issues related to the identification of new needs and research opportunities, as well as procedures to improve the visibility and impact of REDISSEC through the proposed transfer and implementation activities.

External relationships committee:

Responsible to identify, establish and strengthen relationships with other research groups, national and international research institutions, professional and patient associations and administrative and funding institutions, with the aims of expanding research cooperation, opening new possibilities for funding, providing feedback and interactions, and improving transfer of research outputs.
