- Adapting or developing methods to reduce confounding (e.g., risk adjustment techniques, stratification, matching techniques, etc.).
- Adapting or developing methods to reduce misclassification bias (e.g., methods to treat missing values, identification of clustering phenomena, etc.).
- Adapting or developing methods to reduce selection bias (e.g., propensity score matching, instrumental variables, etc.).
- Adapting or developing techniques to enhance analytical capacity and overcome risks associated to the use of real world data.
- Developing guidance on how to improve comparability (e.g., decisions on counterfactuals, decisions on providers, etc.).
- Adapting or developing methods to involve stakeholders in comparative effectiveness research (e.g., patient referred outcomes, patients’ perspective, decision aids).
